The festive season is set to start in India from January 13. A number of harvest festivals varying from State to State will be celebrated in the coming days across the country. India being a diverse country has diverse festivals which celebrate the various cultures and traditions in the country. Lohri is celebrated in North India on the 13th and people observe Makar Sankranti across India, Uttarayan in the West, Pongal and Tamil New Year in the South, and Magha Bihu in the East on 14th January.
As diverse cultures in India gear up for the harvest season and transition to the next phase of the solar calendar, Lohri, Pongal, Makar Sankranti, and Bihu festivals mark the occasion with united creativity. Vibrant colors, warm wishes, celebratory offers, product crossovers with festive facets and ritualistic music are soaked in these creatives.
India is traditionally considered as a land of farmers whose primary occupation is agriculture. This is the reason why most of the festivals and lifestyle are exclusively linked with agriculture. People rejoice, give thanks to God and nature for the harvest and beautiful life ahead. The main intention of celebrating these festivals is to welcome spring season and the new harvest. They mark the end of the winter season and give lots of reasons to rejoice, enjoy and have fun.
MBS SPA is hosting an Online Poster Making Competition under the theme of “Harvest Festivals Celebrations”. Through this competition, participants are required to showcase their creativity. Participants are also required to send the image of their poster along with a small caption of not more than 20 words.
