The Abhivyakti Photography Club of MBS SPA hosted a photo walk on 25th June, 2022 to a crown jewel in the heart of India’s capital city, New Delhi – The Humayun's Tomb. Tucked behind a façade of thick stone walls lies the tomb, a magnificent edifice in red stone, the pathway to which is lined with trees amid sprawling manicured lawns, and the structure which unfolds before the eyes has a semblance to India’s most recognizable and quintessential wonder – The Taj Mahal.

Albeit the scramble, the hustle-bustle, and chaos of this metropolis packed with 14 million people, the Humayun's Tomb offered the visitors an all-together serene experience as one walked into a time warp of the Mughal era. The students who explored the sprawling complex of the garden tomb which personifies the Mughals, filled their frames with essence, energy and moments from the walk to the mausoleum. The photo walk manifested the Light and shadow theme, in the rightful words of  Gregory Maguire,“The eye is always caught by light, but the shadows have more to say“.

As a part of concept building classes,a site visit was conducted for 3rd year students of MBS SPA at Hauz Khas metro station,New Delhi.The students explored the metro station as per technical perspective. The students had structural/Architectural drawings of the metro station, and were able to see the details practically. In this visit students observed the design and services at Metro station.

As a part of concept building classes, a site visit was conducted for 2nd year students of MBS SPA at Dwarka metro station, New Delhi. 

The students explored the metro station as per technical perspective. Students saw the layout of the metro station pasted on walls. During the visit the students observed roof truss, stair case, metro station platforms, joints of steel sections in roof truss, services at metro station. 

To provide our students with specialized learning from subject matter experts in the field, the MBS School of Planning and Architecture is organizing a small workshop at its campus on the Topic "How to Design" on Wednesday 22nd June 2022,  10.30 am-1.30 pm.  MBS SPA takes immense pride in welcoming Ar. Manoj Mathur, He is the co-founder of Mathur and Kapre Associates and a Professor of Architecture at SPA New Delhi.  With his widespread knowledge of working across all aspects of the Profession, he is a well-known and much-in-demand person in the Architectural fraternity. 

Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. The essence of yoga is balance - not just balance within the body or that between the mind and the body, but also balance in the human relationship with the world. Yoga emphasizes the values of mindfulness, moderation, discipline and perseverance. When applied to communities and societies, Yoga offers a path for sustainable living.
In keeping with this spirit, MBS SPA is organizing an event to celebrate, the 8th “INTENATIONAL YOGA DAY” on 21 st June 2022 at their college campus under the theme “Yoga for Humanity” in morning session.

Site Visit to a Residential Plot in Dwarka, New Delhi

Description

• Students were accompanied to a 400 square yards of residential plot in sector 10 Dwarka, opposite Venkateshwara International Kids school and were given an assignment to create conceptual sketches of their two-story dream residence. The purpose of the site visit was simple, which was to understand and visualize and to integrate the theoretical concepts taught in class. These 3rd year Students were asked to take a peek into what they did in first year and what different will they want to do now. 
• Students integrated their ideas taking into account the design brief, the site context, microclimate of the site, the sun path, the wind direction, the building bye laws etc.  and created conceptual sketches which led to the design development stage.

MBS SPA organised a site visit to Vegas Mall, Dwarka for the students of 2nd year on 16th June 2022. The site visit enabled the students to understand the construction and working of the basement and public conveniences with special emphasis on understanding of services and its integration with design and construction.

As a part of Concept Building Classes, a Site visit was conducted for the second- and third-year students of MBS SPA. The students explored the basic building materials and techniques of plastering, slab casting, reinforcement details, external wall cladding etc. on site

MBS SPA extracurricular team hosted an Offline Event of Poster making competition in college campus. All the first year students took part in the event. The main intention of celebrating this event is to create awareness and bring out students creativity. Through this competition, students are required to make posters on World Environment Day along with a small caption of not more than 20 words. After back-up preparations, floated the competition to all the first year students of MBS SPA on 2nd June 2022 in college campus.
