INVISIBLE ARCHITECTURE

Invisible Architectureattempts to understand what could have been - it discusses the worth and value of ideas that did not leave architects’ tables. The lost competitions, or some even won, or disagreements with the clients, or disputes, some ideas that were far ahead of their time, some simply unbuildable.

Every architect who has spent a couple of years in the profession would have such stories to tell. There is a significant percentage of projects that remain unbuilt. Architecture cannot be merely appreciated based on what is there, but one also needs to evaluate - what could have been.

Invisible Architecture’ looks into some of these ideas which could not translate into buildings, and ideas that continue to be.

 Presenter:

Rajesh Advani : Founder and Editor - ArchitectureLive!

Rajesh, an architect and urban designer by qualification, founded ArchitectureLive! in 2011 intending to make architecture and design information easily accessible to everyone, by way of creating a platform that offers fair and equal opportunity to all. The portal has grown into a platform that creates meaningful and engaging discourse on art, architecture and design, that involves diverse practices across India.

In addition to managing ArchitectureLive!, Rajesh also published the first book ‘India: unbuilt architecture’, which celebrates the value of unbuilt Indian architecture.

He has also been a part of many panels and jury where the focus has been architecture and design, in addition to being actively involved in facilitating dialogues and discussions on architecture in India.
